Wow. Sure, the government may be finally realizing that global warming is a real problem buy here is what will make anyone laugh. The US government is wanting to research technology to block sunlight with “giant mirrors” or reflective dust in space.
Forget the Kyoto Protocal, an agreement on global warming by the UN which asked industrial nations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The US felt the measures were too strict and would hurt the economy so they refused to ratify. Boo. So now their solution is that of a James Bond movie. This whole ordeal is a reponse to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change who is putting out a report on the second step to the Kyoto Protocal. The US feels that blocking the sunlight is a last-ditch effort to stop global warming. What’s next, a giant laser?
The US’s answer to global warming? Smoke and mirrors. Literally. Beaker and Bunsen could come up with a better solution.
